Computer accessibility

Item description

Computer accessibility can be found on Windows computers in the Control Panel section. Settings can be adjusted to make it easier to see the computer, use a mouse and keyboard and use other input devices to assist the user.

How is it used:

Depending on the Windows Version the accessibility features can be found either;

Start > Control Panel > Ease of Access


Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options


For people with:

Speech difficult to understand, good use of hands or no speech, use of hands difficult

Key features:

  • Magnify the screen to make the information on the screen easier to see and the icons larger for ease of selection
  • Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard
  • Voice recognition
  • on screen keyboard
  • Make the mouse easier to use
  • Use text or visual alternatives for sounds
